I don't think all these guys are just big dumb muscle heads with no desire to learn anything outside of athletics. It is more a question of time. How do they have the time to succeed with the pressure of preparing for such a strenuous schedule with nationally televised games and everything that surrounds that attention?

I have no doubt that some guys are just motivated and are able to pull it off. There are guys in the NFL that seem to have succeeded all around, John Elway comes to mind. But there are also NFL players that make me wonder if they ever sat through a lecture during their 4 or 5 years. You hear all the times of players who have been suspended because of their grades (or lack thereof).

As anyone in that attended college knows, a lot of it is time management. College players don't sit around on their be nice and play video games or watch TV when they don't have anything to do, as they always have something to do. if it's not classes or homework, it's football. probably some socializing, but mostly during the off season. I'm pretty sure the coaches help to 'motivate' their athletes with team rules as well.
The atheletes are doing a lot for the school, so the school in turn will do a lot for them.

GB you can always find the exception to any rule. I'm talking about playing college football 4 years, getting a bachelors in only 3 and got half of your masters completed before you finish your football career and plan to go to med school to be a pediatrician.......oh and if it matters he's black.

Me either but some think of them as little more than extras for a Tarzan movie.
