Scavenger Hunt

Postby randiliana » Mon Jun 25, 2012 6:10 pm

My family is having a family reunion this coming weekend. I said I'd make up the scavenger hunt. So I just got it done and it is all riddles. Anyone want to try them out so I can see if it is an impossible mission? I'll give the answers later, please don't google the answers I want an honest try since where this is at there won't be much internet service.

.I hold up the fence, have been there for years and yet I am still woman's best friend.

.My top is flat and white, my leaves are fuzzy and I make a great tea.

.If you believe I am worth my weight, you might be the biggest fool of all.

.Happily ever after happens in the end, regardless of the struggle it is love at first sight.

.I am prickly and I am purple and Canada is my name.

.Every cow wears me, but this time of year you might have better luck finding me on the fence.

.Flour, meal or alcohol I am important to all. In a short while the hills will be golden with my colour.

.Sand is loose and gritty, but give it time enough and it hardens under pressure.

.You used me to slurp that soup, but in the end you tossed me away.

.I once was wooden, but one the fire licked my limbs I could easily blow away.

.Check the core out, I am small but mighty to the tree that bears such a fruit.

.This tree's leaf might line the clouds.

.I am small but sturdy and have protected my charge for days. But once it is hatched, I am no longer important.

.The cow's mind me I am so sharp and strong. 100 years ago the range was free.

.The colour purple comes to mind, many yardsites are surrounded by my scent.

.I am teeny tiny and yet I bring such colour to the land. Purple, lavender, lilac or violet you might consider my petals.

.The houses of old used to wear me, now I am more likely made of tile or asphalt.

.As the water surges around me I have become smooth and round.

.My petals are yellow, my centre black, sometimes you will see red on me. I have been known to blanket the land.

.Even the dullest rock will be brightened by my colour, it may take me years to cover it however.

.Some might consider me a flying flower, but I actually prefer their nectar.

.I can be green and slimy, it might prevent you from going swimming.

.Edible or not, usually we are small. You must find 5 that have yet to ripen.

.I am quite a pest. I live on your life's blood, but a little soap in the spray will keep my wings at rest.

.Cows, horses and sheep enjoy my flavour in the winter. Right now I am green and flower white, yellow, lavender or purple. You might find me swathed into a windrow too.

.Kids might think I am a Christmas tree, I thrive in salinity. My leaves are green and fuzzy, but a pest in the garden I am.

.A bird must have me to fly, no matter how big or small he be!

.I grow in the ground, deer might even eat me.You might think you could mend a tear when you first see me.

.Light at night fascinates me. My cousin flies during the day, but I prefer to rest.

.Small, brown and sneaky, you might want to check yourself over after finding all of this list!

Just ran thru them real quick. Probably to someone from your area, a lot of those would be easier.
