New Holland 3010 S issue

Postby jwggriff » Mon Jun 25, 2012 3:09 pm

Just bought a used NH 3010s, 52hp tractor. This is my first tractor. When it was delivered it started up fine. I attached a 3pt hayspear after moving the tractor into position and now it won't start. The transmission is in neutral, the gear is in neutral but it will not even try to start. Does not sound like the ignition switch is working at all. I'm sure this is my issue and not the tractor but does anyone have any suggestions?

PTO lever has a neutral, and an engaged position. It's in the center of the two. I did push on the clutch and try and move it over to the neutral position but it does not move much at all.

Hold the clutch pedal. Make sure the key is in the off before trying to start.

I had an old internatinal that had a disconnect so it wouldn;t start if you weren;t sitting in the seat

Thanks, it was the PTO lever. It appeared to be in the neutral position but was not. Once I messed with it a little last night the tractor started like it was supposed to. Thanks for all the replies!!
