Iso, that's a gripping story. Not being the landowner and rather shallow pockets my hands are tied beyond what I've already done or can do Monday.

You can demand performance by the landowner, via his lease agreement with you. Other guy out; you in. If he won't do it, you either eat it, or fight it, depending on the prevailing politics/good sense.

Hard to offer to do anything when he won't answer the phone email or letters

I know what county. I can find out where he lives easy enough I think. I'm telling you right now, offering to buy the cattle will go no where.
He's going to lose several k/ yr just in income That he's charging the landowners. not counting cattle profits he will lose by me snatching these 2 properties from him. That's not even counting what he's going to lose once I get the bigger parcels. Which I will.

you think this guy cares about what kind of calves those cows will have next year? make up something about having a holstein or mini zebu bull that you will be turning out there under your new lease agreement. send him a letter notifying him of this and see if he responds. certainly not legal advice, but if he cares he'll move 'em.
PM me if you have heifer calves for sale in Florida.

And all this time, I've not known anything good about Florida ;-) So, land owners in FL actually pay cattlemen to graze the land?? How much is the ag exemption worth?

You save more than 50% in property taxes, and your property Insurance is cheaper also with an ag exemption.

On commercial zoned land it's worth many thousands per acre.

Brihop, he doesn't care one iota about his cows. There are several carcasses on the property of cattle that have died and never even got buried or noticed. The cows are always getting out from what the sheriff told me. Thy even got The main highway that runs thru Orlando. I-4.

I read over the statute, however I believe a more useful document would be the copy of the written lease agreement... to see the bit about eviction/notice to remove animals, how many days he has, etc. Since you mentioned that its all in writing then show that to a property/real estate type attorney and to make sure its legally enforceable. If so, then follow the procedure set in the statute, since you can cite it as being deemed a reasonable course of action should a lawsuit arise...

State in the letter you send him that the cattle are now considered to be impounded at the property at which they reside and a per day fee is now being assessed for their care and board. The owner has X # of days before the auction is held (at the site). Put notice of auction in the local paper. Should he not remove them before the auction then he'll be given the $ paid for the cattle minus the per day board fees. Be sure to make the fees plenty high enough! I'd suggest having an attorney's office send the letter.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes... and let me know if you want a partner... a free lease on grazing land would be nice, nevermind being PAID by the landowner to run cattle! :)
