I expect at least 95% of the members of this forum would have done the same.

I sure hope the father isn't charged with anything.

Push comes to shove everyone says they would kill anyone that moleats their kids. Unless you catch em in the act most wouldn't. Big talk leads to big actions and jail time more often than not.
Caught in the act is one thing, findin out later is another. When you have a family to think of how they would cope if the main bread winner and dad was in jail it makes you think. Even then it's hard not to act upon. But I'll say this, sometime justice is fair and sometimes its far delayed and there's a lot that can be accomplished just by distributing info within a prison system.

As I read the article Hook it sounds like he caught the SOB in the act so I would imagine his rage took over from that moment on. Doesn't sound like he had time to ponder the consequences....and there really shouldn't be any in store for him.

The only problem I have is nobody knows the facts. And I hope the facts support what the rancher says was happening. And if so that person got what he needed. You and I disagree on this one Hook, if I knew somebody raped or sexualty molested my daughter, or son's for that matter, I had better not ever see them. I feel that child rape is worse than murder in my book.
If we would of known this, we would of picked our own cotton. Liberals have no values.

I'd volunteer to be on that grand jury. We had an incident around here like that where the sob killed the little girl after committing the horrible act. If caught in the act, that should be justifiable.

I have no problem with a guy killing a rapist, but falsely accusing and then murdering an innocent man is a crime FAR worse than murder. More facts are needed.

I beat the snot out of my father in law once for not bringing my son home at the agreed apon time. We had called him a few times and got no answer and finally called MIL who was with them and could hear him in the background telling her "F them. I'll take him home when I'm ready." I litterally kicked his a$$ out my front door. There is no doubt in my mind that I could have pled temporary insanity and gotten away with that beating and by that point in time my son was back safe. As it turned out I didn't have to plead anything as he had a few skeletons in the closet that kept him from going to the cops. When I found out about those I called him and told him I'd kill him if I ever saw him again... He lives in Texas now and yes, I called the local authorities and told them he was there.
When it's your kids involved all bets are off. I've never been someone that will fight unless I have to but I beat him to a pulp and he's alot bigger than I am.

The only saving grace was the person lived in another state. Even then I had to stop myself in my truck, rifle in hand several times.
My mistake was that within minutes of learning, I called 911. Even though justice was served if I could go Back I really couldn't say if I would change things or not.

Exactly. On the surface it sounds like the rancher was justified but we really don't know. It's his word against that of a dead man with the only other witness being a 4 year old girl. Heck, we don't even know who the rancher is or who the dead guy was. I say we let the facts come out before we either convict the rancher in our minds or call him a hero. Everything else is just talk.
