My wife and I have been on two cruises, while I'll say I don't know if I love them I would go on another so there must be something I enjoy.
My short list of things to do and not do:
1. Don't plan on drinking a lot of beer, while all the food and some beverages are "prepaid" (not free) on both cruises we were on the beer was $6 a bottle. We had no beer bill on our second cruise.
2. Had a cabin with a balcony on both cruises, I don't think I could survive an inside cabin, no windows. Also some cabins and balconys are located behind a life boat, so that's your view from your cabin, a life boat 5 feet away.
3. If you like to play the slots or other machines in the casino play early. I swear they change the payout odds the first night. On our cruises the casino closes during the eary morning hours, I think the ship grimlins come out and tighten the screws ..... I just can't be my luck

.
4. Get your Internet fix before you board. On our second cruise my wife booked it during the college football season

, I was forced to pay $18 for 11 minutes to check scores. Yes it is an initial fee then by the minute afterwards, for very slow Internet.
5. Eat then go eat some more, you paid for it and you can work it off later. The dining room food was very good on both cruises and the buffet is quick and decent ...... Plus it's all you can eat, so at least in my case I tried to eat it all.
6. Check batteries, take all sun tan lotion, hats, sweatshirts (when at sea it can get a little chili). If you have to buy anything on board you'll hate the price.
7. Don't fall overboard, the boat won't (can't) stop to pick you up!
8. I found that the cruise crew frowns on fishing off the ships deck.
9. One of the most important thing is on formal dining night, don't let your wife catch you staring at the cleavage of some stunning lady in a red evening gown.

Tends to damper things at the dinner table.
Feel free to add your own to the list.

I'm not afraid of hard work, I can lay down next to it and fall asleep without a problem.
