Yep a couple of them were ticked. They were not speaking to me today. One person even asked me if I had found any more out dated stuff, it was the way it was asked that let me know they were ticked.
Talked with the co-worker I closed with tonight and asked if they had noticed it. They had but they think it might have been something else.

Yep I found more outdated stuff today.
I could tell my bosses were not happy about it. Guess they were upset because of how lazzy some of their former employees were.

When I worked at HEB,if a customer found an out of date item on the shelf, they could bring it to checkout with the same item in date and get the in date item free. For a while,we had people doing their weekly shopping that way. Some workers got demoted, some got fired.. You don't find expired items anymore..

When I was a kid Granddad used to tell me that there was a union called Lazy SOB's and that I should never join it. Sounds like you have some members there.

I don't belong to that union slick.
Looks like the 2 worst offenders are now gone so hopefully that will be the end of it.

Felt bad last night. Had a customer come in with a check to buy a gallon of milk, well we have a list of people we are not suppose to take checks from for one reason or another.
This customer is one of them. Had to call my bosses to see if we could accept it but they said no.
Had to tell the customer we couldn't accept it.
They left in a huff.

Oh well, too bad. If they've already taken a loss from that customer, you can't expect them to take more.

Why feel bad about a deadbeat? If they can't pay for it they don't get it.
Ohhhh, thats right. I just described 3/4 of this country and credit debt.

It costs the store a lot to take a bad check. Banks just hammer businesses who deposit bad checks. So it's sure the business has already taken a beating with this customer. I'll bet they (the check presenter) pay cash at the liquor store. Stocking the shelves isn't the only thing you're being paid to do. Saying "no" to customers like this would be the harder part of the job for me.

Mom gave me a $2 bill to hang on to for luck. I still have that $2, so I guess I've never needed milk enough to spend it.

Dead beat is a dead beat. They didn't get in that list by having a single
Check bounce. It's happened to most everyone once. To get on the deadbeat list its a pattern

Yeah I know. Guess if I had taken the check and it bounced I would have felt even worse.
Going to ask my boss for an updated list. The other clerk told me there is a person on it, they made it right with the store, but they are still on the list. Makes me wonder if there are other people that need to be on it. I had happened to see a photo copied check on the bosses desk; I did not look to see who it was; but written in large letters across the top was, "Do you think this one will bounce too?" I did see it was over $200.00
Going to make sure I check the list against the checks I get. Some of the people I do not know.
One couple I do know on that list, pay cash.

Thanks for that insight hookline.
John it was hard to say no, but the boss said no.

Felt like the odd man out today. Only 2 people would talk to me so I just figured I would do my work and ignore the rest.

Closed with one of the new girls. We had some good laughs. Carding people buying booze who we knew did not need to be carded. We made their nights :D
Just talked her through a few things. Pretty nice girl, I like her.
The other new girl it turns out is dating the owners son and is a bit stand offish with me so I just stay away from her.

Got half the baking aisle cleaned today. Had to grab a mop afterwards because of the flour and sugar that ended up on the floor even though I was wiping things down with a wet cloth and then wiping it dry.
I enjoy talking with the customers. Teased my favorite customer today. He is such a nice older gentleman. I was asking him if he needed help out and then I was teasing him and telling him I wanted to go outside since it was so nice. He kept telling me he was fine and didn't need any help. He won the argument this time but I told him I get to win next time. :D :lol2:

Found out one of my co-workers is now moving to the meat department. His shift is 11am to 8pm. I'm going to ask for that shift. That would allow me to milk my cow in the morning (she is due to calve soon.) It is also full time.

Had a bit of trouble but things got straightened out with my bosses. The one clerk that has been biting my head off is now not talking to me, but I figure it is no great loss.
Turns out this clerk is good friends with our cousins ex-wife. The clerk started getting nasty after hubby's '34 was damaged.
Another weird thing is when she would bag for me she kept bumping me. I kept thinking it was an accident but now I'm not too sure. Even when I moved closer to the till she still bumped me.
Now she is just staying away.

A bit confusing today.

Bosses say I have the full time shift now but my supervisor was telling a new girl they hired that she had it. Bosses said they will get it all worked out.
Told them about the World Hereford Tour up in Canada happening in July. Said I would really like to go to it. They said when it gets closer we will get it worked out so I can go and someone can cover for me.

One of my co-workers said they are still mad at me for stepping in a week ago and helping out even though I had not worked that day nor was on the clock. Said that now the bosses are going to put me full time they are all going to have their noses out of joint big time.
Even crazier. I have been offered a job at another grocery store that is re-opening after being damaged by a fire. Also offered a job at a local cafe as a waitress.

So if I finally have had enough of these other people's crap I can go to work elsewhere.
