Other than having an earlier spring, we don't seem to be too different. First frost here is normally around November but the temperature vacillates a lot during this period. Doing anything outdoors isn't bad if you get started early in the morning cause your body will acclimate to the temperature as it increases. If you stay out of an air conditioned building you really don't mind it too bad. But leaving an air conditioned building and walking outdoors will just sap you if you haven't done this. This is why during the summer I try to avoid going indoors during the day.

And that is why I stay away from air condition too.

When I was 16 YO,1960, my summer job was working for the county replacing damaged concrete in the beach road. We used jackhammers, pry bars and wire cutters. The normal dress was cutoffs, tenner shoes,a tee shirt that was shed around 10:00. Caps were optional. We had a five gal keg of ice water as a treat.
The temp would top around 95 with humidity about the same. Don't ever remember anyone saying it was hot. Oh yea, we would wolf down a sandwich so we could play football at lunch break. They even paid us $1.00/hr
It was nice being young.

I spent some days like that too and the bear has only caught me a few times.
