Not familiar with that grass but around here a bale of cotton stalks would cost you more than that so I'd jump all over it.

That wouldn't barely cover the fertilizer cost let alone anything else. This guy won't be baling long.
At today's fertilizer prices it would cost 112 dollars an acre to put out 300 pound's per acre.
If he got six rolls to the acre his cost is 19 dollars a bale on fertilizer.

Then his idea of fertilize is pulling a buggy by the pasture.

I usually don't sell hay . But when I do it's during January when there is less hay avalible and I know exactly what I have in it . I set my price and if no one wants it I save it until the next year and feed it .

Yesterday evening after work I just started cutting a patch that was previously coastal (it died last summer) it is native grass, rescue grass, and rye grass, its not fertilized and it has some weeds in it, but it beats the he77 out of 150 dollar a bale bar ditch baling with beer cans and baby diapers in it, that some yank promised was great quality and sent down to Texas.

Got me curious on this hay, so I read a few articles on this type of grass, First of all, after its established it doesnt need fetilizer. Most of the aticles said it only made fair quality hay at best, but it sounds like one heck of a grass to have around for grazing.

In my neck of the woods in KY, $25 a roll is the going rate. The only time it gets higher is if there is a drought and there is a shortage.
