Amen -- big or little. If I was met on the street, I'd have "little." God help the poor baaastards that tried mischief at the house, or with hubby on the street.

It seem odd to me that some people do not have a gun in the house. But I know some choose not to. Thats fine.
I have a few (50) and at least 3-4 are loaded.
Bought 10 plus 2 extra barrels today.

Kenny, I still need to scan and send you the stuff on that old .22 hubby got from his friend. Just been too crazy the last couple weeks. . . . .

Still seems odd to me also that more people THAT SHOULD HAVE guns at home don't have. I worry about the ones that SHOULDN'T HAVE, and do. If only the current laws were enforced, instead of adding on more . . . .

I agree if the current laws were enforced I would need none of them except some to play with. I dont advise everyone having loaded guns unless they have a way of controling access from the kids. I dont have any kids around but still keep them high up where if we have visitors the young ones cant reach them.

The only gun law that is needed is criminals can't have or buy gun's.

We already have that, CB -- for felons. And I'm really sort of on the rail about this . . . . but those guys can buy them at gun shows or by private party. I think the REPUTABLE gun show guys stay away from stolen stuff; really no control over private sales by classified ads, or word of mouth The stand-up guys will do a bill of sale, even if they don't have to register. The back-street guys won't. How do we clamp down on that?

A guy at a flea market near here has long guns on his table for sale and pistols in the truck out back. I was told he has been convicted on 5 felony charges and had done some prison time. Where is the law that checks him. He is there every week and not hard to find. I will not deal with him period.

CB, and if a felon is caught with a gun they get the death penalty. Don't penalize the law abiding citizen.

That's NOT TRUE, High Grit -- that a felon caught with a gun equals death penalty. Normally, someone on probation or parole is caught with a gun, and they get sent back to prison for the term they would orignally have gotten (probation) or more (parole), if it is treated as only a violation of their conditions. New charges could be filed. If a firearm is used in part with a robbery, drug deal, assault, attempted murder -- for some cases, a gun in possession will only be an "enhancement" of 5 yrs. or so to the normal penalty. Few charges, in few states, are now death penalty cases.

Kenny T -- Have a friend interested in that .25 Colt Vest Pocket. In truth, I will never carry it. I carry when I'm travelling alone, and then with something that makes a bigger hole. To carry it daily, I'd have to check it/lock it up daily with our security people in the courthouse, so what's the point? Checked prices v. condition, etc., on Gunbroker & Guntrader. He thinks $500 is too much. Guess it will just stay here in the safe.

I think highgrit meant that's the way it SHOULD be, not the way it is.

Highgrit, wonder how many people even have a 22 short anymore. I looked at the 14, 22 rifles I have and only 3 are made to shoot the 22 short. But we also used them to kill hogs.

If I was buying I would think $500 is too much also, but I am always looking for the bargain.
Tell him its a Colt not a Jennings. haha
