As far as a bull not respecting a fence because a cow is in heat he won't stay on my place If he crosses a fence . My bull lot is a 2 acre pasture with 5 strands of barb wire . I have 2 brangus bulls that live there 10 months out of the year cows graze around 3 sides and they won't cross the fence .. Fence jumping is why I won't have an angus or charolais bull on my place .

In my experience, if fences arent good, any cow will get out. Of all the angus breeders ive talked to, ive never heard of such problems with them getting out. At least compared to other breeds. But now if theres a hole in the fence, i can see that. Usually its just bulls getting out, with good fences. They cant resist a cow in heat. That goes for just about any breed.
But angus are the worst cows to have in a chute. My opinion. They tend to hit their knees when the headgate closes! Lol

James T - there's been over a dozen different bulls on my place in the past decade. If going to the pasture and seeing angus bulls and finding nineteen holes in the fences is attributed to ignorance - I need to wise up some kind of way because not only is it wearing me out, it has worn out the whole community down there. Again, one neighbor was so infuriated he shot and killed one that had been in his place again and again.
I am going to get a pic of the fences.
It aint about "bashing" and I am sure someone is going to say that again. Someone asked why people are opposed to them in this thread and I responded. It is getting out of control.
Call me a liar. Call me ignorant again too. I'll bring you the pics and I will start bashing - with facts.![]()
I do have pics on the one who was shot going through the fences. That was back when we almost had a Taylor Sutton fued start up over that one bull. I could post those if I took the time to find them.
