Nope not to make you feel guilty- just to make you think of it from a different perspective.
Us older people that smoke have known the consequences for years- and it wasn't enough then and it isn''t now the motivator to quit.
So why show it? Especially if it effects even one person(me). I would rather be dead than live with potential lasting consequences of what I have already done. I don't need to have that thought pattern reinforced. I am not the only quitter that thinks this way And there are LOTS of older smokers that think this way and its a major obstacle for them to even commit to quitting. If you were sincere in wanting to help people quit, I would think you would also want to know that that method backfires for some. A good one for us would be a person that quit and went on to live with no long term issues.
Again---It does have a GREAT place in encouraging those that haven't started or just recently started. But I doubt many on here fit that category.
