Just introducing myself...

Postby Sunny Citizen » Wed Mar 28, 2012 5:39 am

Just decided I really needed to work on my bucket list. Remember going to Granpa Benson's farm in KY as a kid and he would occasionally have an orphaned calf to bottle feed. (He had Black Angus.) LOVED helping him with that. So, in January, I bought 5 pure Jersey calves to bottle raise....4 bulls & 1 heifer. It's been a learning experience that I am enjoying. I've dehorned, castrated, force-fed, put up an electric fence, and given IM injections. Looking forward to the future and learning more from this forum. Thanks in advance! ~Sunny

The quickest way to lose money in the cattle business is to do it the way grandpa did it.....and the quickest way to lose everything in the cattle business it to forget the way grandpa did it. (Dad)
