Just that I had an uncle shoot himself with a 25 when I was very young so I have always been a little scared of them. Not a good reason to be.

Where did he shooot himself? How much damage did it do? [quote]

ryder, the 25 went off in his pocket and shot himself in the leg. For whatever reason he did not go to the Dr. until it was too late to save the leg and they took it off. He had a wooden leg the rest of his life and all the time that I knew him.

Kathie, on the other end of the spectrum I looked at a Remington 870 today fitted with a 60" barrel. Dont know what I would do with it though.
And a 50 cal sniper rifle. Would love to have it but dont can buy a lot of things for $4,000.

Okay guys . . . I already have a Remington pump 20 ga. I already have a Marlin 30/30. I already have a .54 half-stock, traditional ML rifle (percussion). I already have a custom built Bedford County style ML rifle (also percussion) in .50 cal. -- which is highly unusual, as most of that style were built no bigger than .45 -- I wanted one big enough to hunt elk with. That Bedford is drop-dead gorgeous, with highly engraved in-letted German silver pieces. I need to take some pics of it and post them (I need to post lots of pics, once I get that all figured out . . . . ). What I don't have, I can borrow from Hubby, from .22 to elephant gun. So, I'm good! :)

I'm not bragging, but I'm not a dummy about firearms. Not as knowledgable as hubby, but I grew up as the oldest child of an avid hunter (and later, Dad built some ML guns -- he said they taught him that in pharmacy school, as well as fixing washers and dryers and such), so I got indoctrinated at an early age.
I'm for shyts and giggles -- until I giggle and shyt!

We were shooting one day and one guy had his long barreled .44 mag. My wife had a little .22 auto.
We exchanged guns to shoot and he about scared my liver out the way he was handling that .22.He was reckless.
It's like being a big .44 man he didn't consider that .22 a real gun. :help:
I had to watch him real close to make sure we were out of his way. :hide:

When it came my wife's turn to shoot the .44, he had this condescending macho look on his face like he didn't think she could handle his man sized gun.
When she started popping them in where she wanted them the look on his face drastically changed.
One thing he didn't know was that she had a very good teacher that she had been a very good student.
She could shoot as well or better and certainly knew more about gun safety than he did.

Kenny, if you go to a gun show a week, you know WAY MORE than me about gun values. I just know what I know from a "practical" position. Maybe a little more about the black powder guns -- which does not include black powder cartridge guns, about which I know nothing, but hubby does. :) And it's okay if you mess me with me a little . . . Just a little.

How's your tractor project coming along?

Oh tractor is running great but only when I park it on a hill. Can't seem to get fire to the points and not sure it is the coils although that would be the logical thing it would be. Changed the filters and fuel and then bleed the system and rolled it about 20ft and it started. Runs great. Still cant believe it has only 837 hours. The tack is working and has not been replaced that I can tell.

I think the only thing I could help you with on that tractor, if you wanted a copy, is the wiring diagram. Never owned a 720.

Years ago I used to carry a .25 working behind the counter of my local 7-11 store. Long story short, a guy was on his way in to stab me because I wouldn't sell him beer since he didn't have ID because he just got out of prison. On the way in, he changed his mind and stabbed a guy outside. One of the cops that responded told me that if I'd have shot him, I'd had likely be nice him off. Now my absolute minimum is my .22 Mag derringer. :hide:

Recently a man asked me if I had a gun in my house?
Say what? :???:
I told him I did. Then he asked if it was loaded?
Now those were two dumb questions :bang: .

You know what I mean.
And they walk among us. :help:
