Maine bull I-80

Postby BettyLandercasper » Sat Mar 10, 2012 4:17 pm

I am wondering if any cattle forum members have used the club bull I-80 or if anyone had seen any of his offspring.
I am thinking that if I can get semen I might use him on 4 precision bred Angus cows who are NH carriers.
Thank you

Betty,

I hate mentioning another site on here, but you may have better luck on a site that has members more involved in the show ring world. You might try Steer planet.

I-80 has some pretty good reviews coming out on his calves, his daughters are selling quite high on average, there are quite a few post about him on Steerplanet, most of them are favorable, he has thrown some big calves for some, and allot of calving ease type calves for others. I think that your cows could click real well with him, and still get a calf you can register. There are quite a few pictures as well in the post.
I have had a few calves out of his sire, they come small and really turn it on at about 8 months.

Thank you for the information. My cows can use a finer head and less brisket--their calves are real functional but not fancy enough to get beyond county fair. And of course NH can't get out of the feedyard, thought we might try something a little different.
