We start the 19th of March around here. Any turkey hunters on board here?

I don't hunt the things but have a field full behind the house. Thirty four this morning cleaning up around the calf creep feeder. They never look up when I go out. Guess they know I'm no threat.

You ought to start selling them. I got a friend that runs a guide service, I get $300 a bird, or any time a shot is fired. This might be the first year I don't hunt, that kind of money is hard for me to pass up.

Thats good stuff right there! Our hens are already laying. Been seeing them seperated off around noon for about a week or so. This will be one of those seasons when it's almost over by the time it opens.

Turkeys around here are not that tame. We don't get that close very easy.

I've been seeing a lot of them lately. I'm sure they will bust up shortly and get scarce.

are's april 4 - May 4, going to be lots of fun hope to have the field ground worked so they will be doing lots of digging out in the field during the season.

I've been hearing gobbles for 3 weeks here. Too early in the year. Means they'll all be henned up and is going to make it a tuff year to hunt them.last time this happened we had a bunch of silent toms that would sneak in on you and you better hope you saw them before they saw you.

Usually yes. Last few years it seems there have been too many hens and not enough toms. they don't get the chance to go looking.its like they hen up, move on to the next group, hen up again. At least here.
