Mini Cattle Man Here...

Postby Minicowman » Sun Sep 10, 2017 5:41 pm

Hi all...I'm new here too! We're in North Jersey with a small 10 acre farm and we just started with some Western Heritage Mini Cattle.

Hopefully there's some other folks who are also raising Minis!

:welcome: Just have one question. I don't ever remember a breed called western heritage cattle when I went to school and haven't seen it in any books on cattle breeds. So please tell me what they are. I hadn't heard of aubracs either but am now breeding some of my cows to them so I sure don't know everything.

Welcome.

I had to look them up as well. It's not a breed, best I can tell it almost like a "brand" of mini cattle sold by one person or family. I say that because I can only find reference to them on one web site.

Well from what I've been told, these animals are kind of a "Mutt" Mine have Mini Hereford, Zebu,Dexter,Longhorn,Brahma. They were bred to look like what was commonly seen in the old west. The Paints,Brindles,Spots, etc.

These little ladies are both great to look at and are super friendly.

Yes, from what I am told, the Mini Wester Heritage Breed was developed to imitate what you'd see on the plains or ranches of the old west. Cattle with beautiful coloring like Brindle, Paints, Spots.

Our WH Cattle have mini Hereford, zebu, longhorn,Brahma in them. They're cattle "Mutts". But ours are great to look at and are super friendly!
