:D Ditto. Sorry I can't come up with anything else. Everytime I think I'vve come up with something, I remember somebody, at some point, had already told me not to do that. :cry2:

I wish I had been told to not waste so much money on horny women. Oh crap! I was told that. Think of all the cows I could have had by now.

First would be to quarantine anything new for two weeks before exposing the whole herd to whatever the newbies bring with them, reducing the treatments to a few instead of all. Second, keep a year's worth of hay in reserve in case mother nature throws you a curve. Third, learn all I can BEFORE jumping in with both feet, as it seems you are doing. But even with the harsh lessons, love what you do or don't do it at all.

Maybe at a later time I will be able to say that I wish someone would have told me this or that but right now im still doing my own research for a while before I buy.
I have always been interested in having a far with cows and horses....maybe more but everything I do is me doing it on my own for the most part. None of my family do this. They grew gardens and stuff but no livestock.

At least I found a place like this to hopefully learn...SOME things.

Can't say I wish I was told these things cause I was and I found them to be true.

You can't make $50/hour doing $6/hour work.
Fads will come and go so take the middle of the road and provide what people are willing to buy.
You can make more money with a pencil than you can with sweat.
When planning future financial projections, use a dull pencil.
Listen to the person who is trying to help you and not argue with them or the help will dry up.

That my cows/calves are as good as other people's horses. Keep the best hay for yourself. You may make more money in the short run but it will cost you in the long run.
One bite of good hay is worth 5 bites of lesser hay.

Never buy a baler at a auction unless you are planning a career change as a baler mechanic.

I spent most of my life around cattle and farming with plenty of advice. I guess I should have known better. It just gets in your blood.
