Questions about Kangaroos

Post by cowboy43 » Thu Apr 25, 2019 8:36 am

Thinking about starting a new fad and selling my cows and getting kangaroos, what type of fencing will I need, what kind of working pens, how many can you run to the acre, can they be worked off horseback, how will I market them maybe through the local cattle auction. I have many unanswered questions and any advice would be appreciated. :cboy:

I would think you would need a tall deer fence. And I would try to set up a yearly sale on the farm with taller facilities then the local cattle barn

I like the way you think outside the box. I would use high voltage cables 10-12 feet high, kind of like what was used in Jurassic Park. As for working them, I would skip border collies and train some dingo's.

As for marketing, you just need to send out some press releases about how good they taste and how much money their is to be made and you won't be able to keep up with demand. Just remember not to get greedy and get out after a few years and move on to something else.

Forget roos.......you're in Central Texas...think about it....there's a king's ransom to be made raising and renting out anteaters.

Only if they are free range, 100% organic, never any pesticides, herbicides, or hormones on the property and never fed any feed with gluten, antibiotics, or GMO grain in it.

I want to say one word to you. Just one word.

Are you listening?

Wallabies.

There’s a great future in Wallabies. Think about it. Will you think about it?

You guys are all nuts!
Koala Bears are the future... soo cute and cross them with Grizzly bears to reduce frame and
improve docility epds in the grizzlies.
Could also cross 'em with brown bears to reduce picnic basket theft in Jellystone.

The cost to import didgeridoo players makes raising animals from down under, cost prohibited.
Although you can import mariachi bands dirt cheap, so chupacabras would be a better bet.
