Looks like a bad year for snakes

Postby Jogeephus » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:28 pm

Just noticed the second snake bit cow this year. She's hobbling pretty bad. Looks like she took it on the left front leg. Last one got bit on the right. That is two in as many weeks.

I would guess either a rattlesnake or a cottonmouth but if I were betting I'd lay money on the timber rattlesnake. Don't have many copperheads here.

Will the cow heal up from a poisonous(spell?) snakebite?

I hate timber rattler's, I dispatch every one I see. You better not step out the porch here this time of year or in the fall with out looking real good. I have already seen a couple dead ones here.

Yes, there ought to be a law if you aren't going to kill it you have to paint it.

Ryder you would like Ireland, as there are no snakes there, supposedly thanks to St Patrick. The only thing is it is a bit to cold and wet for your liking.

How much do you reckon it would cost to get this St. Patrick fellow to come over here and clear those evil serpents out?
I'd be williing to chip in a few bucks and some shotgun shells.
