I hope you are feeling better, Ken. We might have to come and visit Stanthorpe during the Apple festival or something.

Busy Busy Jilleroo, congrats on your buy.

I would love pics of the whole place as well Melking, - you should upload them all to a photobucket album for us.

I didn't get much done over the weekend. Went to Mum's to help with the garage sale, but by the time I got there it was just about over. A lot of stuff left and I did put a bit in my car that I liked the look of. I also bought a Eyobi leaf blower/vacuum for $10.00 which needs a new bag, and a turn yourself upside down machine ( for your back for $25.00, so I am now cashless again!!!!

I did go to the resort and see Mum's new house and her most of her new furniture. Some hasn't been unpacked and put together yet. But the bed, TV and table and chairs are there so it is at least comfortable. I did visit with Papa and hubby's sister while I was there. Then back to Mum's house where the new tenant cooked pork roast for us all. She is absolutely lovely.

I slept the night in the 'big bean bag' and talked awhile with my brother. He is actually quite entertaining and had seen shows like Embarrassing Criminals so was telling me about episodes of that.

Up in the morning and I wrapped stuff from the trophy cabinet in paper before leaving for our lesson at 8am. I rode Jack this week, hubby was on Dodge and rode him really well this week.

I was tired and made myself stay awake for the drive home and promptly fell asleep at home. So it was dark by the time we brought the weaners up to give them their booster, but I had forgotten to turn the electric fence on when I fixed it the other day and we lost one who I presume has gone back to its mother. So the herd will have to be brought up next weekend and it and a few others brought weaned again and give it its booster and separate some out to sell. We gave the rest of them their boosters wearing lights on our caps, which made it very easy and hubby dehorned two.

A weekend off next week, no delivering hay, not going for a lesson and no going to Mum's!!!

Well I made it up to the PA Hosp today - eventually - by rail, bus and on foot! An epic adventure - never thought I'd be so pleased to see a Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit - felt like crawling into one of the beds. Mum looked okay but her mobility is not good so I don't think she'll be home in the near future. They're assessing her again tomorrow. Coming home was no easier. And I have to do it all again tomorrow and beyond! Could drive up, but parking is not that easy.

Suzie, it sounds like full time work is getting in the way of farming.
I got the bulls in today, vaccinated with 7in1, 3day, weighed them, measured their scrotal circumference and took an ear notch for Pesti. I also fire branded one as his freeze brand turned out pretty feeble.
I took the ear notches into town and luckily Kirsten had some Snap tests in stock so I ran them through and all were negative as expected.
This arvo I pulled the leg off the outboard to check the water pump.

More photos will come all. This weekend was devoted to catching up on all thebookwork. Didn't even make it out to the ranch. Glad everybody is okay, worrying about Ken a bit. Wishing I could keep up with Suzie and Jilleroo. Never saw 2 ladies work so much.

I am thinking of going in half an hour earlier and coming home for an hour and a half in the middle of the day, Ken. It is over 9 hours off the farm daily and I am only home when it is dark, which is a pain. I have long hair and I don't blow dry it, so I need to wash it during the day not in the mornings or afternoons or when it is windy or I can get sick with a sore throat and worse if my immunity is down.

Because I fell asleep I didn't wash it on Sunday so I came home at lunch time yesterday and washed it and unpacked a bit out of the car. An hour and half would give me a bit more time at home during the middle of the day.

I'm ok Mel, as I mentioned, since this Arava has kicked in about a month ago, I am feeling a lot better.
Yep Suzie, the days are getting pretty short, which I like, still about 4 weeks till the shortest day.
I hooked up the fence on both sides of the grid this morning, so its all set for when I put the cows in now. I took the boat for a spin on my dam this arvo. The motor still won't idle so tomorrow I'll take the carbie around to the shed and put it on the mill and drill out some plugs so I can clear the passages going to the idle jets.

Garden Club today, I think I will at least be able to take a pumpkin and maybe some lemons. They are supposed to be lemonade but 'my forever helpful' hubby cut it down as 'lemonades doen't have thorn. Well guess what - yes they do. So it probably grew back as a lemon.

"Forever Helpful' hubby then bought another lemonade tree, planted it, wouldn't get the brushcutter out for me when I asked for it day after day and then got it out and brushcut for me on a day off and cut the new lemonade tree off at ground level so I guess if that grows back it will also be a lemon!!!

It is amazing how I have a garden full of flowers but never on the day of Garden Club. i did look last night and some purple and white variegated petunias, which are quite boring, although too common to win anything, but then the only time I have won anything was when it was a Public Holiday and a lot of people didn't turn up!!!

Poor old hubby Suzie, I am sure he was trying to do the right thing. You just have to be understanding of us poor males. We can't be good at everything.
Well I didn't get much done today. With these short days and visiting the neighbour and a couple of other visits, the day is gone. I did get the carbie from the outboard all sorted though and she idles nicely now.
Jilleroo, I prefer to go to places like that by public transport. Parking is very chaotic, even the pay parking areas are difficult, they seem to be made for very small 4 cylinder cars. Push your Mum to keep her mobile.

Mum is working hard at her physio but I have to keep reminding her to breathe - she concentrates and holds her breath. I must say that the staff up there at the P.A. are excellent, we have no complaints. A bloke came around today with a survey about the staff and care mum received - we could only give a big tick in all aspects.
I've got the rail trip nailed now, I get off at Buranda and walk to the hospital. It's a solid slog up the hill at Cornwall St to GARU but it does me good, I tell myself!!
They're forecasting some handy rain coming through the west tomorrow. Hope its enough to do some good, not just wreck what we have. It will be very cold after this change goes through.
The new Jack Russell is working out very well and has a couple of rats to her credit already.
Hubby carted in 30 old cows yesterday to sell today at the sale, including the triplets' mother and they averaged about $800. Prices were back on what we were getting earlier in the year but they weighed very well.

I didn't berate him Ken. I was just so thankful that it had finally been done and I was so happy that he did for me. It is his way of showing his love for me. He doesn't say it often but does things like brushcutting the orchard for me. (((((hubby)))))

I went into work a little bit early and every time someone came to me and said I had to do something I just said. I won't be here until after midday, I have just come in to do the Banking so the Parts girl didn't have to come in early and I am off to Garden Club.

The Sales Manager had come over and said I had to do Invoices from our Branch Manager. I just told him I had done what I could do and could not Invoice them. Right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing. I had to reverse 2 last week that they made me invoice and that costs me time to reverse fix and re-invoice. Then a phone call from the branch manager who is away and told him the same thing!!!! I also claimed 9 hours overtime in a week to try and get the message through!!!!

So off I went to Garden Club and I paid for the bus trip to go to Nambour, so I will take that day off as it is a Friday. LOL the worst day for me to take off as I do reports on that day, but I will just try and do them the day before.

As I was leaving I noticed that the Parts Girl still had some of the Invoices so that is why I hadn't done those ones. When I came back the Sales Manager had also found that she still had them so I was off the hook!!! Every time she finished her part and gave them to me I invoiced them and they were done. So that is all caught up now.

But I am behind in Service so will go in earlier this morning as apparently the Grandson is coming again today and I will get into trouble for Service not being done!!!!

I received a present at the Garden Club for my Birthday. A little stake of a rabbit with a black board which I presume you can write on with chalk, not that that would last long when it rains and a packed of corn kernels to plant but not until Spring or Summer and we are in Autumn going into Winter.

I did see my cattle down on the other side of the creek when I came home - they were all inside the fence line so that was good.

No rain so far. I took the boat for a spin on Stormking dam this morning, all went well.
This arvo I started going through my sheds, I managed to make up one load for the dump. I hope it has made a difference to space. I feel as though I should be heavier handed, though it is surprising what I will reuse these days, so I need to keep a certain amount.

I have an awful time tossing stuff out. Seems like everytime I pitch something I need it the next day.

Hubby took a load to the dump last weekend. I had dismantled the incinerator and then reused what I could in the fish pond. So with that and the netting off the round bales and bits of wire ends left from his fencing in the cattle yard the place looks a little cleaner.

I just about caught up at work and did come home from lunch. If I get a bit of filing done today I will be all caught up for the end/beginning of the month.

I planted some geraniums and yellow lillies that I have to pay for at the next Garden Club. I managed to get there with no money!!!!! I wrote a cheque out for the bus trip to Nambour. It is a very big show. Like farm fest but for Gardeners. I filled out my leave form for it yesterday.

I planted the yellow lillies underneat a mandarine tree in the dark and went to remove a weed, which must have been a branch off the tree. A thorn went slightly into my finger and now I can feel it typing this. :(

Home again. The plane was half an hour late leaving and, when they landed at Blackall, they diddled around with luggage for ages before finally taking off again. Heavy cloud all the way. We had about 18mm at both places and now its cold and dull so that ground hasnt dried out much at all. It was sad leaving mum. She'll have plenty of family visiting her though.

Going to see if I can locate that new bull we bought tomorrow, hubby hasnt really been down there since he let him go.
Not much else happening so might get into tidying up the garden and maybe even make a start on a new painting!

Yeh most odd bits and pieces can find a new use somewhere down the track. I just got to find a good filing system so that I can locate them when needed.
We had a bit of rain start about midnight. At 6 this morning there was 8mm in guage, I thought there might have been more than that. We probably got another 10mm today. Overall very pleasing, a little bit goes a long way at this time of the year.
I mainly just did my shopping today. I picked up a bit of steel for my neighbour, I am making him some bars to hold his portable panels apart to form a race. He has recently bought two dexter cows with calves, he has a heap of panels only and has made just one massive round yard. Anyhow I said I would make up some bars so that he can make a race and forcing yard. He will then be in business to do things with them.
Gee, all that taking off and landing would make me very nervous Jilleroo. The new bulls don't get any pampering at your place, just straight out to fend for themselves, I guess he would be having a good time with the women though.
