How many days does it take to finish out a load of 800# steers in the feedlot?

Depending on their condition, and genetics, it will take 120 or more days.
Jason Trowbridge
Southern Angus Farms
Alberta Canada

In weight (in this case 800#), Average daily gain (dependant on nutrition, genetics, condition, environment, implant strategy, etc.), and out weight (dependant on type of marketing system, economic conditions, and mature frame size of the cattle.
As you can see, there is a lot that influences the DOF of a particular pen. If you can guess the out weight you will need to acheive to finish your cattle and an approximate average daily gain, you can predict DOF by:
DOF= (Out Weight - In Weight)/Average Daily Gain
