PCC Bull Sale Results

Postby blackcowz on Tue Nov 03, 2009 5:28 pm

I do not have heifer results! However, I do have fairly accurate bull results. With all the out and no sale bulls, there were 288 head sold and I recorded 285 of them. Here's what it breaks down into on the 285 I got recorded, and I hope my math was correct.

The first round of Angus bulls sold 66 head and averaged $4561 per bull with the high selling lot being #2 @ $8250.

The round of Red Angus bulls sold 60 head and averaged $3704 per bull with the high selling lot being #70, the lead off red bull, @ $12,750 who was the highest selling bull today, followed by the lot #2 black bull.

The second round of Angus bulls sold 85 head and averaged $2824 per bull with the high selling lot being #154 @ $4500.

Two black baldie Angus X Hereford F1 bulls sold for $3500 and $4000 each.

The black composite round sold 23 head and averaged $2817 per bull with the high selling lot being #229 the lead off @ $4750.

The red composite round sold 11 head and averaged $2940 per bull with the high selling lot being #253 and #256 @ $4000.

Two Tarentaise bulls sold for $2250 each.

The Hereford round sold 36 head and averaged $2994 per bull with the high selling lot being #270 the lead off @ $6250.

Now, don't quote this all as gospel, but again, if my math is on target, 285 head of bulls averaged $3439 today. That's pretty good in this economy. I guess PCC ain't nearly as dumb as some people make them out to be. Pretty solid sale did a lot of talking for their program.

Sounds like a lot of people are getting tired of feeding big oversized cows.

Thanks for posting a report. That was a successful sale in anybody's book, wasn't it? Any pics available of the bulls sold?

Heck yes, I wish I was selling bulls for his low averages. I do not have pictures, but I do have the link to all of the bull videos. The videos are pretty decent. If you scroll to the bottom, all the "out" bulls' vids are there.

Geez, I better be careful what I wish for. I wanted to look at the Tarentaise bulls but life is too short to look at all of those!

Edit-Found 'em! Lots 268 and 269. Not as much hindquarter on them as I expected but they are young yet too.

I watched for a while. Looked like another successful sale for Mr. Pharo. Obviously a bunch of buyers that don't judge a bull strictly by his looks. ;-)
