Trudeau vows justice, compensation after Iran admits role in downed plane

Justin Trudeau’s modus operandi tends to be public measure and restraint. But when it comes to the plane crash over Iran that killed 57 Canadians and has captivated his country, the prime minister has embraced a new tack: public outrage.

President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded Saturday that Iran punish those responsible for the downing of a Ukrainian airliner, pay compensation and apologise.

No one in Iran will get punished to any large extent and Trudeau's 'public outrage' is just for domestic consumption, just as Iran's retaliate missile launches against the air bases in Iraq were.
(the Iranians had no choice BUT to admit they did it. They were caught red handed.)

This just tells me Iran are scared and freaked out thinking there was strikes coming in response to their missile strikes. They panicked and made a huge mistake that cost 300 lives. Very sad situation for those families but also why i wouldn't go to the middle east for all the money in the world.

It's easy to have happen nowadays. Wasn't too hard 30 years ago too when our US Navy USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655 off the coast of iran. In those days tho, a human had to actually press buttons to fire the missile. The commanding officer of the Vincennes went on to be commanding officer of the United States Navy Tactical Training Group at Naval Base Point Loma, a group responsible for training officers in handling combat situations.
Nowadays, some antiaircraft systems are almost 100% autonomous in search, detection, tracking and target ID and once on active search and auto fire, the operator doesn't have to actually fire the missile..he has to take action to PREVENT the firing of the missile. It was a Russian designed 9K331 Tor [SA-15 GAUNTLET land-based, SA-N-9 naval version]

The USN Phalanx and CIWS is the same way. Passive or active search mode, and then auto fire mode. It tracks multiple targets, engages the closest one, then when it's fire control software 'computes' a hit, the system automatically switches over to the next target and engages it. (Phalanx shoots depleted uranium or tungsten rounds) The 2 that were on the last USN ship I was on were a sight (and sound) to behold in action and the current versions are probably exponentially better. . the similar SeaRim uses missiles.

GB just hit the nail on the head, still hard to believe good folks like them Iranians would do something like that, wonder were the money that paid for that missile came from, I can only hope next time we ask for permission from the wizards of do nothing to deal with them.

This article if true seems to think that the Saudis, Iran, and other nations in the Mideast are looking to try to defuse what is going on over there and maybe live together and quit fighting. Lots of ifs to make this happen.

The problem with that is the ingrained centurys old hate for each other (and they probably don't know why) and the religous nutters who have agendas of their own. A lot of muslims are loving peaceful people but the extremists seem to really get hold and it is their way or death. You can't reason with those ones.

So Iran will have to pay off some of the victims, but they will still have plenty of cash left for more roadside bombs. Meanwhile - - the US will continue to purse some kind of regional stability program that almost no other country seems to buy in to.

Finally home and working out of the office again.

Well, the trudeau false outrage was interesting. After all the prime minister of Canada has a brother who makes propaganda films for iran. Do not believe me? Do your own research because it is true.

IMO and from a national security aspect this should concern many people and could potentially be a reason why Canada is not always "informed in advance" of many operations.

Those of us who have walked crash sites knew full well within minutes of the first pictures being broadcast that it was a shoot down - the shrapnel holes were clear and numerous. The site was cleaned and bull dozed within a couple of days. The body parts all cleaned up or covered in dirt. Scavengers have been allowed access to pick up anything of value.

Evidence has been destroyed intentionally and those "black boxes" will be tampered with for certain. That will not matter though because the plane was "healthy" and was simply shot out of the sky.

His fake outrage actually makes a lot of Canadians happy - but they do not know it is as fake as a three dollar bill as they are totally uninformed and believe the bought and paid for Canadian media.

Yeah, the Canadian prime minister provides the media big lump sum tax dollar pay offs to "toe the line." If they behave they get a tax dollar donation of many millions. If they do not they get nothing. So much for an independent and unbiased media. If you do not believe me then again, look it up. Mainstream media in Canada got around 500 million dollars in the past year or so. The little guys got nothing so that tends to be where interesting stories can be found.

So, I probably have got this topic shut down but do your research and THEN think for a bit. Because this is what is happening in western Canada today:

Best to all.
