We bale graze rather than unroll, but this is now complicated by baleage. Had been feeding one herd every other day rather than setting all the dry bales out in the fall. In hindsight - - should have fed more balage before the snow got too deep for a 5E series JD.
The other herd has all preset bales, and breaks trail out to a corral off the township road, so they can be managed on foot if necessary.

I learned that lesson the hard way last winter as well.
The other lesson was don't put up baleage to wet or it turns into an unfeedable hay-ice cube below 0 degrees.
