Fresh Ranch/Farmer in North Texas

Postby glfgy74 » Sat Jul 14, 2012 8:08 pm

Hello everyone and thank you for checking on my post. We'll be taking ownership of 155 acre ranch in North Texas in a couple of months and we have our work cut out. It's been neglected for quite some time which has made the land more affordable, but to get it in good grazing shape is gonna take a full season of serious elbow grease...

But it'll be a labor of love I'm pretty sure! This 17 year cubicle dweller can't wait to get out and see nothing but fields in front of me!

Thanks again! Let it Rain!

Howdy Curt. Welcome to CT. Nice to have you.

Iso, certainly won't forget how granpa did it!!!

I learned that the nations food supply is being supplied by fewer and fewer farmers. Farming/Ranching is something I can sink my teeth into and truly enjoy day in and day out....learning from the folks that have been doing it right for years has been a big help fo me early on in this..

Hey Slick, headed your way soon...Bonham. We looked at a place in Farmersville, the old place out on 1539...i loved it, but my significant other was less thrilled...

New here, too! I've been ranching since I was young with my grandfather. I'm from the Bonham area, but my ranch is in Bailey Texas and just over 600 acres. Not too big, not too small :). I'm just getting back in the game after a break for college. To the guy who's moving to Bonham, I want to welcome you! It's a great little town with nothing but openness surrounding it! Watch out for some of the locals, tho. Not everyone is so welcoming. Do you mind if I ask what location your ranch is?

Welcome to the area! You probably made the better choice going to Fannin county. Lower taxes and not as much county government BS as here.

:welcome: to you CoonAg !
