burning as management practice

My local Ag Extension rep advised me to have a soil sample analysis done in February to see what fertilizer I need to add in the Spring. I think I'll take a sample from one end of the coastal field that was burned last year and take another from the end that wasn't burned. It will be interesting to see the outcome.
