front feet turning out

We have a heifer that when she sits up she wants to point her front feet out. How do you get her to point the toes forward?

Thanks

Hoof clipping work wonders on back feet. However, I have never seen a hoof trimmer that could do much with fronts. For the most part they are stuck with what God gave'em at birth when it comes to toeing out on the front. A good hoof guy can give you a bit of correction but not much. We had a really nice bull calf born last week that toes out way bad. I'm assuming that he is locker meat at this point.

She walks fine just when you stop her and try to set her up. We did have her feet trimmed last weekend hoping maybe this would. Thanks for your input.

Do you have a picture of her with her feet turning out?

She might need a trimming or that might just be how her feet are and there's nothing you can do about it. I had a Holstein show heifer once that toed out and if you work hard in the show ring you may be able to pull it off but more than likely the judge will notice. But if she is good enough in other ways, it might not matter so much!

If the heifer toes out its a genetic defect. You cannot correct it. Get you some better genetics.

A good trimmer can help it, they just can't totally fix it.
If you can't convince them, confuse them.
