Selling today

Took 21 hd to the sale. 9 steers,12 hfrs. Two rounds of shots, 75 plus days weaned and no implants. Will see how they sold.

The 9 hd of steers avg 732#, brought 135.75 for $993.69.

The 21 hd including the 12 heifers averaged $873.00 per hd.

i know as much about this as anything else i don't know much about

I updated the original post with the results I know now. Should get the sale sheet with each group results Monday. Satisfied with the results on the whole group.

Those steers were handy weights. I think 300 kg + is a usefull weight for weaners (660 Lb), yours exceeded that easily, well done. If they weigh well you end up with a handy cheque no matter the market.

We were satisfied. Like always some say if they were at a different sale they would of brought more. This sale is 34 miles from the house.

We are in west central OK. 13 of these calves were off 14-18 y/o cows. We intended to sell them but prices were low for butcher cows, all were bred and we had some 4-5 y/o old wheat hay with bad string we needed out of the hay lot. Finished the hay and moved to graze out wheat in mid March for 5 weeks. Will sell most of the cows this year. Keeping them made us money.

They did good, where did you take them to sell, and where are you located?

West central OK. Sold these at Elk City Livestock. Will start selling old cows next week. We may sell the first ones at Clinton Livestock. We have sold at Woodward before and will again. Groups of 10 or more sell good at Woodward. Groups less than that get docked harder than at other sales.
