SPICY SHEPHERD'S PIE

1 PKG. (6.6 OZ.) INSTANT POTATOES
1 LB. GROUND BEEF
1 MEDIUM ONION, DICED
1 CAN (14 1/2 OZ) DICED TOMATOES, UNDRAINED
1 CAN (11 OZ) MEXICORN, DRAINED
1 CAN SLICED RIPE OLIVES
1 ENVELOPE TACO SEASONING
1 1/2 TEASPOONS CHILI POWDER
1/2 TEASPOON SALT
1 CUP SHREDDED CHEDDAR CHEESE, DIVIDED
1 1/2 TEASPOONS GARLIC POWDER

PREPARE MASHED POTATOES AND SET ASIDE. BROWN ONION AND GROUND BEEF, DRAIN. ADD TOMATOES, CORN, OLIVES, TACO SEASONING, CHILI POWDER, SALT AND GARLIC POWDER. BRING TO A BOIL; COOK AND STIR FOR 1-2 MINUTES. TRANSFER TO A GREASED 2 1/2 QT. BAKING DISH. TOP WITH 3/4 CUP CHEESE. SPREAD MASHED POTATOES OVER TOP, SPRINKLE WITH REMAINING CHEESE. BAKE, UNCOVERED, AT 350 DEGREES FOR 12 TO 15 MINUTES.
