1 cup dried blackeye peas
1/4 lb bacon
1 quart boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups cooked rice
Cook peas with bacon in boiling water until peas are almost tender.
Add seasonings and onion. Continue to cook until peas are done and
most liquid is absorbed. Add rice and heat.
